Welcome to the very first Blog from Lotus Healing Therapies. In fact, welcome to the very first Blog that I have ever written.
I hope to post every week giving you lots of information about the modalities that I love.
So, I guess for now, I should let you know a bit about what I do and what I hope for the future.
There is so much illness and sadness in the world and I feel a lot of it is stress related. Stress can contribute to back pain, migraines, perhaps even lowering your body’s natural healing abilities which in turn makes us more susceptible to all other illness.
In this day and age, we are busy and the demands of jobs, kids and mortgages can sometimes be overwhelming. Perhaps we are not eating well, no time, no money? Perhaps we are simply overworked and overstressed whether by demands from others, or demands that we place on ourselves.
The solution should be easy! Find the time for relaxation, find someone to help you re balance yourselves. I hope that I can be that person.
I love what I do, I love the gentleness of Bowen Therapy, where people spend an hour on a massage table simply relaxing. It is what Bowen Therapy is all about, from the first 2 moves our body starts to remember relaxation.
Reiki is another tool that I love using. Its energising and relaxing at the same time, depending on each persons needs at the time. And, of course meditation, we all have heard of this. Maybe you have tried it either by yourself or in a group. The benefits of doing meditation in a group setting with a meditation facilitator is that you are supported. You get to try different forms of meditation all guided by someone that has trained in this area and in my case someone that has themselves been meditating for well over 20 years.
The doTERRA essential oils are another tool that I use. 2017 is very exciting for me as I learn more about these wonderful oils that nature provides. I am formally study Aromatherapy and hope to be able to offer this as a modality by the end of the year.
Imagine being able to offer reflexology too? How relaxing to have someone massage your stresses away through your feet or hands? This has been on my to do list for a long time and I’m looking forward to be starting on this new journey.
Every time that you allow yourself some time out, our bodies gently release the stress that you are holding onto. It helps the inflammation in our body, can lower blood pressure, helps our bodies heal and most importantly lowers our stress levels. When stress levels are lower our bodies and minds function better. We are able to think more clearly and life seems simpler. That’s something that we all want !
